Multiple Exposure

Multiple Exposure Essentials

*Aperture Settings- the smaller the aperture is excess light will be decreased

*shutter speed- the amount of time based on the speed of the camera the more or less needed movement will occur

*lighting- the amount of light gives so much potential for that image

*Tripod- keeping the camera still is very crucial

*direction- the poses the model does should wait to change after the flash to get the best results

*neutral background- a bright bold background will dominate your exposures as opposed to a black or white backdrop

*more exposures- lower your flash power which will allow you to capture more movements in a short amount of time

*timer- very helpful if you don’t have a model and setting it to 2 seconds will allow you to get more exposures in.

*ISO- set the ISO to 100

*smaller the better- too much movement happening will cause it to not turn out right and into a huge mess

Abstract Documentary: Platon Photography

Critique

– I loved how Platon found a way to capture people’s emotion or “story” by the detail and attention he paid to their eyes.

-No, his techniques were unique and very inspiring that helped him achieve his vison greatly.

Reflection

-He doesn’t let his dyslexia stop him from achieving his goals, I feel as if he’s come to embrace his disability and learned to work around it by not letting it put him down from rising above and becoming the best he can be. I feel as if I have my own struggles like Platon, I tend to be pretty tough on myself because I know everything I do can be done better in some way.

-He was born in London, shot several famous celebrities that ended up on Time Magazine, and WON 1ST PLACE in the World Press Photo Contest with his portrait of Vladimir Putin.
